BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS

§ 32.01 – CREATION; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; TERM.

There is hereby created within the Village a Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, the members of which shall be appointed by the Village President with the consent of the Board of Trustees, and the initial appointment to which shall be effective for terms ending in May of 1989, May of 1990 and May of 1991.

§ 32.02 – OATH AND BOND.

Members of the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners shall not have qualified until after they have executed an oath and bond in the penal amount of $5,000 pursuant to the terms of Ill. Rev. Stat., Ch. 24, § 10-2.1-3.

§ 32.04 – POWERS.

Members of such Board of Police and Fire Commissioners shall have such powers as are conferred upon them by Ill. Rev. Stat. Chapter 24, Section 10-2.1-1 et seq., with the exception that the power to appoint the Chief of Police shall be reserved to the Village President with the consent of the Board of Trustees pursuant to the provisions of the Illinois Municipal Code.
