The community of Round Lake Park, IL. really appreciates our “Coffee With A Cop” program. What started as a community outreach program has evolved into a positive event for the police and the community.
Periodically the Round Lake Park Police Department hosts Coffee With a Cop which is simply an opportunity to meet with Officers in an informal environment while enjoying a free cup of coffee. Why coffee? For centuries, coffee has brought people together – a simple, safe beverage that many enjoy. It opens up conversations, questions, and conversations that help the Round Lake Park Police Department better understand the Community and the people we serve, and for the Community to better understand the Police they see throughout their village.
During past events, some topics that have been discussed range from identity theft, to basic crime prevention techniques, city ordinances, understanding why police “jobs” are not easy, and require the cooperation of the community.
