The Village of Round Lake Park utilizes Blackboard Connect service for emergency resident notification. An Emergency Notification System is a method of facilitating the one-way broadcast of messages to one or many groups of people, alerting them to a pending or existing emergency. The system can also provide non-emergency information such as local events, road closures and other relevant community issues.
As a resident or business, you can opt-in to emergency messages, non-emergency messages, or both. Complete the information so that you will be added to the database for emergency and non-emergency notifications. The information supplied will be sent to the Blackboard Connect system which the Village of Round Lake Park has contracted with to provide emergency notifications.
Using Blackboard Connect, the Village or Police Department can record and send an unlimited number of personalized voice messages to home phones, businesses, local agencies and mobile phones in just minutes. The service also sends email, text messages (SMS) to mobile phones and posts on Facebook, RSS feeds and Twitter channels.
