It is likely that many crimes can be can be prevented if you report suspicious incidents.
Suspicious incidents are important to report because they can prevent or I some cases solve crimes.
There is usually one witness that observed some suspicious behavior prior to crime occurring.
The witness knew the person that committed the crime. After the incident, the witness says that they knew there was something suspicious about that suspect.
It is not Embarrassing to Report Suspicious Incidents
The majority of police work comes in a reactive manner where citizens observe the crimes or suspicious activity and law enforcement must then respond. The community serves as the eyes and ears of the police department.
Many people who take the initiative, viewing something suspicious and reporting it.
In many cases, once the incident was investigated it turned out there was a completely legitimate explanation. However, this left the individual feeling as though they wasted police time. Officers appreciate vigilant and cognizant citizens. Remember, you may have witnessed something that may seem unimportant to that could be a vital piece of information for the police.
