Effective July 1st minor traffic tickets issued to drivers will rise from $120 and $140 to $164 for a guilty conviction if paid prior to a court date. Tickets for texting or using a cell phone while driving will also be $164. Local ordinance violations are no longer an option. Currently communities with local ordinances are permitted to issue local ordinance citations that do not affect your drivers license.
