RLPPD Awarded Bullet Proof Vest Grant
The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) informed our agency that we will receive an award under the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) solicitation. ONE MILLION VESTS: Since 1999, the BVP program has awarded more than 13,000 jurisdictions a total of $467 million in federal funds for the purchase of over one million vests (1,349,813) as of January 2019. Officer Honored for Task Force Service
Officer Ken Welsch was honored at the September 17th Round Lake Park Village Board Meeting for 5 years of service with the Lake County Major Crime Task Force. Officer Welch was instrumental in a number of high profile Homicide Investigations during his assignment with this elite unit.
